The One With All The Colds

This Friday Favorites is brought to you by Kleenex's, humidifiers, Dimetapp, & stuffy noses. We all seem to have some version or another of colds/allergies. Thankful for a rainy, cool and cozy weekend ahead to rest and be a family!

As soon as we got home from school she asked for "Mary Hoppins."

As soon as bath was over she asked for "Mary Hoppins."

Guess what we'll be watching all weekend??

Also, because of B's infatuation with Mary Poppins I dug up this picture from our 2nd trip to Disney.

Proof that we've always been fans!

I'm of to play & spend my day wiping this girls nose. Wouldn't want it any other way!

The One With The Well Check, The Lake, & A Few Favorite Finds

Friday! Friday! Friday!

I think this post will be in bullet points. Because I wrote this late last night and my comfy bed and Gilmore Girls were calling my name!

ONE

-I have 12 of these flower headbands and haven't known how to use them since her hair is so long. Problem solved (we've solved the problem! everything is awesome, problem solved! You're welcome PBS Kids watchers.)

TWO

-Last Friday was Brynn's 2 year well check.

-She still HATES the paper they put on the tables, and the nurse. #EarplugsPlease #SaidSorryAMillionTimes

-I don't remember all of her stats but she's in the 95th percentile for weight (31lbs) and 88th for height.

-We are still having problems with her eczema (you can see the spot on her right leg) and are trying a new medicine routine to try to get it under control.

-She had one shot and her pink camo band aid was her FAVORITE! She showed everyone she saw her "peent ban-nade."

THREE

-Friday afternoon we played kitchen. She was calling the green blocks, green beans. Hehe! Watching her play is a FAVORITE!

-Then it was time for our daily Mary Poppins viewing. She has started singing a "rough" version of "Let's Fly a Kite" and "Spoonful of Sugar" and it is sooo sweet! I love that this movie is a FAVORITE!

FOUR

-Random...this seasons celebrity line up for Dancing With The Stars is NOT my FAVORITE. Except this guy...I think I will just watch him...and laugh. This guy is so unpredictable! J and I watched him in Celebrity Apprentice and had some great laughs!

FIVE

-Saturday we spent the day at the lake with Grams, Pops, Mema and DadDad.

-She wanted in the water immediately! At the bottom of this picture you can see her checking out the minnows with Grams and Pops. (Also, she's started saying Pops instead of Hops and it's a little sad.)

-I may have swallowed a bug while driving the golf cart. #iDid #iSwallowedABug

-The lake is a family FAVORITE! So thankful for special family time.

SIX

-I did some shopping Sunday and found these treats at Dollar Tree. Is it really weird that I remember those glitter pages had a very specific smell? (Jonathan says, "You're always smelling smells.) I can't describe it, but when I see those I am reminded of their smell. Lisa Frank=FAVORITE!

-I found this cutie and CHEAP Halloween shirt. FAVORITE!

(I JUST got B's Halloween costume in the mail...EEEKK!)

SEVEN

-This is a terrible picture, but it's at bedtime while we are practicing a memory verse from church. I need to post a video, it's a heart melter!

EIGHT

-Lately I've felt like I'm in a revolving door of Sunday Blues. Because life isn't perfect, things don't always go my way, I don't always get what we want, I can't be perfect at everything, and I don't have it all together. So Wednesday, after having a pity party for myself during B's nap time, I pulled myself together & made a conscious decision to just BE PRESENT with my girl. And wow...was I ever humbled. It's the smallest thing, but we spend an hour on our bed playing stickers. Then had a snack and watched Mary Poppins together.

We weren't rushing out the door for something and I put my phone in the other room. It was a perfect afternoon. I'm so thankful to God for revealing himself to me through my daughter.

NINE

-Yesterday was yellow day at SNS. Thanks to Aunt Jillian we had the perfect shirt! And she was not thrilled that we were taking pictures and not going to school for, "SLIDES!" Her FAVORITE is morning extended care!

TEN

-And because you know I have to post about KEEP. This is what I've been wearing for the past few days. I didn't think I'd like the necklace much, but it's a FAVORITE! It's a great everyday piece.

-It's supposed to be in the 70s this weekend...pretty sure the fall decor will make its way out of the attic! Plus we are getting ready for a garage sale...that's always a treat. #sarcasimfont

I saw this forever ago and it pops up every once in a while on Pinterest and I giggle about it for days!

Friday Favorites: The One With All The Music

Today's Friday Favorites post is all about music!

I used to be a music junkie. Music, all day every day.

But, lately I've taken a musical hiatus {except for all things Mickey, Raffi, and Mother Goose Club} and replaced my music time with Netflix and The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show podcast.

Since we've started back to school this week I've decided we need a fresh routine! So we are going to cut back on our TV & phone time and turn on the music.

I was going through Pandora and Spotify and thought I would share some of my favorite stations.

I really like Spotify if there is something specific I want to listen to.

You can't find many Acappella CDs on Pandora, so Spotify is my Sunday Morning go-to. I may have "Lead Me To Rest" stuck in my head as we speak. Acappella is a lifetime FAVORITE for our family. You know the CDs that you can listen to and start singing the song that comes next before it even starts...yeah that's us with Acappella. Raise your hand if you're with me!

Am I the only one who still listens to old Amy Grant? We would listen to it growing up and I would dance and spin circles listening to "Baby, Baby."

I've made a Zac Brown station that also includes some random Texas Country songs. This is great when we need some pep in our day!

Now to Pandora.

Dave Barnes. Find him, listen to him, love him.

This specific CD has the song, "Mine to Love" and the lyrics of this song speak right to my heart. If you are trying to start a family, are pregnant, or someday want to be pregnant, you will need to listen to this.

This station also plays Matt Wertz, {my college years are defined by his songs} Gavin DeGraw, Ray LaMontagne, and Matt Nathanson. This is my FAVORITE station. Hands down.

My second FAVORITE station is Need To Breathe.

I came late to the Need To Breathe bandwagon {I had the chance to meet them in college and totally bailed} but their music instantly puts me in a better mood. This is another great mellow station.

And if I'm in the mood for some country...Blackhawk radio it is! All the great 80s & 90s country. I rarely listen to country music...I had it on the other day and couldn't stop laughing at all of the "pop country" that I was hearing.

If I want a fun pop station, I go with Kate Voegele. All you OTH people know how great she is!

Speaking of OTH, I may or may not have in my possession, a majority of songs played through this series. This show spurred my music obsession and between me and several of my girl friends I have an excellent selection of OTH music. One of my FAVORITE songs of all time is from OTH...

Always Love by Nada Surf...so great.

And when the holidays roll around I've got this guy on repeat.

I used to make fun of my mom for having this CD...now its a FAVORITE of mine. Sorry Momma!

And because I'm the coolest person I know...

Yeah...I'll admit it. I love Kenny G at Christmas time.

Those are just a few of my FAVORITES. Of course I also have a few kids stations like Raffi & Elmo. I would love to hear what your favorite Pandora or Spotify stations are! I have a list on my phone of books to read, why not start a list of music to listen to??

Friday Favorites: The One With My Classroom, KEEP, and Some "Brynn Says"

Welcome Friday. I love you.

It has been one crazy week at the Garner house; prepping for school, joining KEEP-Collective, and just day to day life has got me ready for a looooong nap!

One

Last night we had Open House at SNS and it was SO great!! I have 12 of the cutest, sweetest, silliest, smartest new Gigantic Giraffes and I cannot wait for this year! If you chose a number when I posted this...

...now is a great time to start praying for you kiddie! We start school on Tuesday.

I've spent the last few weeks of nap time like this...

...and group texting my 4s teacher friends. I don't know how we get anything done! I sent them this pic and got the response of, "wait...where are you standing!?" Yea, I stood on the couch for this picture. #AnythingForTheBlog

Here is a sneak peak into my classroom.

My incredibly talented Aunt DeAnn cut this giraffe out of foam for me and I painted him. I plan on changing the background and props with the seasons. Hims cute! ;)

A majority of my classroom decorations were made/bought my 2nd year of teaching in public school, they've definitely been worth the money!

And notice the Sonic cup. You can find a large sweet tea in that spot pretty much every Tuesday and Thursday.

On the polka dot papers are the scripture for the month, sight word, and letter of the week.

While we were waiting for Open House to start Brynn wanted to play with the pointers. She so kindly shared them with Evan and Beth. And according to my husband, she threw a gigantic fit when he tried to take it away. #oopsie

SNS is one of my FAVORITE places. It has blessed my family in more ways than I can say. My co-workers, kids, and the church staff make this such an encouraging and happy place to be! I had 6 of my old kids come visit me tonight and it made my heart so full!!

TWO

Sunday night we had an Ice Cream party at church to kick off back to school and the start of One Groups. Whoever decorated with balloons is now Brynn's FAVORITE!

We LOVE our church. We finally got involved in small groups last year and are so glad we did. Our group is my FAVORITE and if you need one...join us!!

THREE

Monday we visited J at his office.

Brynn went into "MINE!" mode. She claimed the chair, water, computer, and a stress ball.

We love you Daddy!

Then we met Pops and Aunt Reagan at Red Robin for lunch.

Red Robin is a new FAVORITE. If you or your kids have food allergies...this is the place to go! They were so careful and considerate of Brynn. We will be here often! Thanks to my friend Amy for the recommendation! #AllergyMomsUnite

B woke up from her nap with the BEST hair.

FIVE

Tuesday we opened this ice cream play set from her friend, Elizabeth. I've been spreading out opening up her birthday presents.

It has a little bottle of raspberry sauce and chocolate sauce. She calls the chocolate sauce, "Bar-B-Que Sauce." I mean...FAVORITE!

SIX

She was staring at the sun on the way home from church Wednesday. Jonathan told her not to look right at it so she covered her eyes.

HA!

We turned B's car seat last week and it's her FAVORITE! She comments on everything and it's so interesting to see what she notices. She LOVES windmills and can spot them from miles away. She often says, "Whats's that noise!?" when a truck or motorcycle goes by. We were at a stop sign and there were some really tall weeds next to it and she said, "mow the grass!" Ha! How does she even know that?

SEVEN

On Tuesday, I posted this...

I am still praying that I'm not in over my head with this! I know how annoying it can be to have your Facebook spammed with direct sales. I promise I won't do that!

I NEVER thought I would be doing something like this. But I truly love the product, and the doors it could open for our family couldn't be ignored. I've felt God moving in me to step outside of my comfort zone and this was a huge step!
