Friday Favorites: Volume Five The One With The Ice Cream

Friday! Friday! Friday!

Join all the fun with the Friday Favorite linky party. You know you want too!

This week was WAY more productive than last week.  I feel so proud of myself!

ONE

Aunt Reagan is always a FAVORITE! We got lots of time with her this week and boy did we love it! Brynn bosses her around all the time and it's hysterical.  She tells her where to sit, where to stand, what to do.  Reminds me of me.

;)

TWO

Tuesday we went to the Science Spectrum with some of our friends.

Lubbock folk, I'm on the fence about getting a membership.  Thoughts? Pro or Con? I honestly think if we are going to get one this would be the year.  I feel like they just don't have enough to keep her attention as she gets older. I just need to decide already!

I was so glad the water table was fixed! It was a FAVORITE for sure!

She was pretty much a blur the entire time.

Her 2nd FAVORITE from the Science Spectrum are these flowers.  She carried ALL of them around.
{Her next FAVORITE thing was this giant, creepy T-Rex. Weirdo!}

Bubbles!

We went to the "Animal Show" and promptly left when the fella brought out a snake.
Nope.
Done.

THREE

My FAVORITE thing about this summer is being able to do fun activities like this with B.  She was crying for her BFF Wednesday and I think she was bored with her toys.  I looked in the pantry and found 2 bags of rice and threw them in this small bucket with her sand toys.  She played for over an hour!

She also threw a bunch out & birds have been eating it.  Is it really true that rice kills them? Because I don't know how to get it out of the grass!

Aunt Reagan also came over and played a lively game of "throw all the animals on B!" She was giggling so much! Nothing makes me happier than that giggle!

FIVE

Thursday we spent the afternoon at Mom & Dad's.

Mom had this all set up when we got there.
Grandparents are the best!

She helped herself to a majority of my smoothie.

And of course, the doll house is a FAVORITE at Grams & Pops house.  If you look close you will notice that she is using the turkey dinner piece as a hat.  Ha!

And, if they aren't awesome enough already, Dad brought out this bike for B!! Her legs are still a little too short, but I see her motoring all over the place in it as soon as she can reach the pedals.

SIX

Gilmore Girl reunion.

FAVORITE.

Lauren Graham tweeted these pics & it makes my heart happy.  I spent many afternoons at my friend Cassie's house watching reruns on the WB (anyone else!?) with her and my other two high school besties. We went back and forth between #teamdean #teamjess #teamlogan and I KNOW we weren't the only ones who were emotionally invested!

This is another show that I quote quite often.

"Oy with the poodles already!"

My friend Kensey sent me a link to watch the reunion & here are some thoughts.
1. Read Lauren Grahams book "Someday, Someday, Maybe" it's slow going at first but is quippy (that's a word right?)  like she is.
2.  Alexis Bledel looks painfully awkward and uncomfortable the entire time.
3. I could not even try to follow "Lukes" proposed story line for the future of his character.
4. Kelly Bishop is beautiful & classy. She played Emily perfectly.  And when she said, in reference to the option of a movie, that Emily would now face the world as a widow, I may have cried.
5.  It is so strange to me when actors say they don't ever watch their own shows.  I get these series/episodes basically memorized & they don't even remember some of the shows main trivia.  Maybe I shouldn't be so attached?
;)

SEVEN

Is your freezer & heart distraught over the lack of heaven-sent Blue Bell ice cream? Well, look no further! Have I got a product for you!

;)

I hope saying this doesn't make me a disloyal Texan...but I may love this stuff more than any Blue Bell I've ever had.

Buy now. Thank me later.

We are spending this weekend with lots of family & friend time. And I can't wait!

Happy Weekend, friends!

Friday Favorites: Volume Four

We have had a very lazy 2nd week of summer.  Like we've seriously done a whole lot of nothing this week.  So, that means next week is the time to buckle down on my summer to do list.

Maybe.

{As I was writing this it turned into a "What's On Our TV" type post.  Yet another clue that we have been lazy this week.}

I've been momma of the year and have let the little one watch way too much TV this week.  B's FAVORITE thing to watch is "songs." I cannot tell you how many times we've watched Mother Goose Club the past few weeks.

She asks for it as soon as she wakes up.  And I oblige.
#becausesummer

{Ignore the pile of laundry.  I swear I finished that all on Monday!}

I pretty much have the whole series memorized.  I realize it only has 1.5 stars, but it's actually pretty good.  The first & second episode are anyways.  Colorful, fun, & catchy nursery rhymes!

Last week she pulled Mary Poppins out and really wanted to watch it (it's my FAVORITE Disney movie!) I really doubted she would have any interest, but she made it all the way to
supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

{Random Fact: In 5th grade I made it a point to learn how to spell "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" So I made it an optional bonus word on my spelling test for the entire year.  I'm not sure when, but I finally got it right! Cause I'm cool like that.}

Then Wednesday she found Toy Story.

I've never been one for the Disney Princess movies.  I tried so hard to like The Little Mermaid {because I've gotta be loyal to the red-head population} but Ursula & the eels FREAKED me out.  I think I own Cinderella and that's it.

TWO

We don't have cable.  When we moved into our house a few years ago we decided to see how long we could go without it.  We do have Netflix, which is well worth the $9 a month.  J isn't a big TV watcher {he rather watch YouTube on the Ipad} so luckily for me, I never really have to share the remote {not including football season}.

It's one of the reasons I love him! Hehe!

I was scrolling through our 5 channels the other night and found Saved By The Bell! And not just regular Saved By The Bell...College Years Saved By The Bell!!! It comes on every Monday night...I'm set.  Move over Bachelorette.

When I was a kid I didn't watch cartoons.  I watched Saved By The Bell.  My dog was named after Zack Morris.  #iheartzackmorris  #foralways

I had The Wedding & Saved By The Bell Hawaiian Style recorded on VHS.  Dark was the day when I realized my dad recorded over them.  Boo.

If anyone wants to buy me this...

THREE

I'm not sure if this makes me proud or embarrassed.

I got this book from the library last Saturday at around 5PM.

I started reading it after we put Brynn to bed at 8PM.

Y'all.  I could not put this book down.  I stayed up until 1AM to finish it!

I was very intrigued by all of the behind the scene stuff, things producers cut or embellished, & getting a glimpse of how the show works. It's a great summer read! I would recommend!

FOUR

B got new shoes! I posted a pic on IG last week in search of our FAVORITE shoes.  Unfortunately, I could not find them ANYWHERE.  The style is great and fits her "pillow-ey" feet so well.  I rarely find shoes at Walmart or Target that fit her.  So I figured that meant it was ok to spend some money on her shoes.

Right??

She got 2 pair.  A simple pink canvas.  And a sweet pair of denim sandals.  I love them!

Cheese!

Alright, that's enough.

Breaking in her sandals.

FOUR

I think you're going to see lots of pictures of us on our back porch this summer.  I am in LOVE with our little home.  It is a perfect place for the Garner Three.  But I do have a few complaints...one is that we can practically see into all our neighbors backyards. And hear everything.  So that makes it a little awkward sometimes.  But it's a great shaded place for us to play!

After nap pineapple smoothie.

Yesterday we put lots of soap in the sensory bin!

And apparently in the summer I forget to bathe my kid.
Her hair is a mess!

This was definitely a FAVORITE for B.

FIVE

1 John is my FAVORITE book of the Bible.  It's full of black & white life advice.  Which I need a reminder of so often.

In high school & college my dad would direct me to 1 John 4 a lot. I still find myself consulting 1 John when I need guidance.

Don't believe me.  Go read it for yourself.  You won't be disappointed!

UNFAVORITE

The devastation of the Texas floods.  I've been praying for the families who have lost loved ones in such a tragic way.  I saw this link on Facebook yesterday.

The proceeds go to the United Way of Hays County Disaster Relief Fund. I bought B & I matching shirts.  Just a small way that I feel like we could help.

I hope your Friday is happy my friends!
