Friday Favorites: Volume Four

We have had a very lazy 2nd week of summer.  Like we've seriously done a whole lot of nothing this week.  So, that means next week is the time to buckle down on my summer to do list.

Maybe.

{As I was writing this it turned into a "What's On Our TV" type post.  Yet another clue that we have been lazy this week.}

I've been momma of the year and have let the little one watch way too much TV this week.  B's FAVORITE thing to watch is "songs." I cannot tell you how many times we've watched Mother Goose Club the past few weeks.

She asks for it as soon as she wakes up.  And I oblige.

{Ignore the pile of laundry.  I swear I finished that all on Monday!}

I pretty much have the whole series memorized.  I realize it only has 1.5 stars, but it's actually pretty good.  The first & second episode are anyways.  Colorful, fun, & catchy nursery rhymes!

Last week she pulled Mary Poppins out and really wanted to watch it (it's my FAVORITE Disney movie!) I really doubted she would have any interest, but she made it all the way to
supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

{Random Fact: In 5th grade I made it a point to learn how to spell "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" So I made it an optional bonus word on my spelling test for the entire year.  I'm not sure when, but I finally got it right! Cause I'm cool like that.}

Then Wednesday she found Toy Story.

I've never been one for the Disney Princess movies.  I tried so hard to like The Little Mermaid {because I've gotta be loyal to the red-head population} but Ursula & the eels FREAKED me out.  I think I own Cinderella and that's it.

TWO

We don't have cable.  When we moved into our house a few years ago we decided to see how long we could go without it.  We do have Netflix, which is well worth the $9 a month.  J isn't a big TV watcher {he rather watch YouTube on the Ipad} so luckily for me, I never really have to share the remote {not including football season}.

It's one of the reasons I love him! Hehe!

I was scrolling through our 5 channels the other night and found Saved By The Bell! And not just regular Saved By The Bell...College Years Saved By The Bell!!! It comes on every Monday night...I'm set.  Move over Bachelorette.

When I was a kid I didn't watch cartoons.  I watched Saved By The Bell.  My dog was named after Zack Morris.  #iheartzackmorris  #foralways

I had The Wedding & Saved By The Bell Hawaiian Style recorded on VHS.  Dark was the day when I realized my dad recorded over them.  Boo.

If anyone wants to buy me this...

THREE

I'm not sure if this makes me proud or embarrassed.

I got this book from the library last Saturday at around 5PM.

I started reading it after we put Brynn to bed at 8PM.

Y'all.  I could not put this book down.  I stayed up until 1AM to finish it!

I was very intrigued by all of the behind the scene stuff, things producers cut or embellished, & getting a glimpse of how the show works. It's a great summer read! I would recommend!

FOUR

B got new shoes! I posted a pic on IG last week in search of our FAVORITE shoes.  Unfortunately, I could not find them ANYWHERE.  The style is great and fits her "pillow-ey" feet so well.  I rarely find shoes at Walmart or Target that fit her.  So I figured that meant it was ok to spend some money on her shoes.

Right??

She got 2 pair.  A simple pink canvas.  And a sweet pair of denim sandals.  I love them!

Cheese!

Alright, that's enough.

Breaking in her sandals.

FOUR

I think you're going to see lots of pictures of us on our back porch this summer.  I am in LOVE with our little home.  It is a perfect place for the Garner Three.  But I do have a few complaints...one is that we can practically see into all our neighbors backyards. And hear everything.  So that makes it a little awkward sometimes.  But it's a great shaded place for us to play!

After nap pineapple smoothie.

Yesterday we put lots of soap in the sensory bin!

And apparently in the summer I forget to bathe my kid.
Her hair is a mess!

This was definitely a FAVORITE for B.

FIVE

1 John is my FAVORITE book of the Bible.  It's full of black & white life advice.  Which I need a reminder of so often.

In high school & college my dad would direct me to 1 John 4 a lot. I still find myself consulting 1 John when I need guidance.

Don't believe me.  Go read it for yourself.  You won't be disappointed!

UNFAVORITE

The devastation of the Texas floods.  I've been praying for the families who have lost loved ones in such a tragic way.  I saw this link on Facebook yesterday.

The proceeds go to the United Way of Hays County Disaster Relief Fund. I bought B & I matching shirts.  Just a small way that I feel like we could help.

I hope your Friday is happy my friends!

    1. Don't worry. I had to have a tutorial myself! I'm still not sure I'm doing it right!

      Go to my first Friday Favorite post and in the comments someone walked me thru it. Maybe that will help! 😊
